Deep Recovery is a small Boulder, Colorado based company obsessed with bringing you world class recovery tools and techniques. We launched on Kickstarter in 2014 with this project and you can read a summary of our backer comments here.
Early this year, we changed our name from Massage Track to Deep Recovery and that's why we're launching this project with a new Kickstarter account. As you can see most of our products still carry our old logo. Old or new logo, all our products come with a money-back guarantee and lifetime warranty, because they're great quality and we care about YOU!
This project launches our newest product - a set of 4 Inch massage balls designed for large muscle groups like the shoulders, chest, back, glutes, and hamstrings. Please note, we offer free instructional video to all, on our website.
They're made from EVA and the pair weighs 3.2 ounces / 90.7 grams. They come in a mesh bag so you can easily use them separately or together.
How to get them
Become a backer of this project and pick a reward. You will essentially be pre-ordering from us. You'll get a special backer discount, and you'll receive your 4 Inch ball set before it is available anywhere else. Your shipping information and any other specifics will be collected via survey after this campaign has ended.
Our FIRST 500 backers get EARLY delivery (August or September).
When our tools are used following the techniques in our free instructional videos, our customers often tell us they experience immediate benefits. This is what our users love about the Deep Recovery tools (short and long term):
Restores the normal loose fluidity of your fascia and eliminates pain through self-myofascial release.
Gets More Done, Faster
More targeted than a foam roller, these balls allow you to reach in and release the specific tight muscles and tissues causing you pain and restricting your mobility. But, they are also larger than the business end of massage tools with knobs, which allows you to get the work done you need, much faster.
Helps return your muscles to their relaxed state after an intense workout -- shown to reduce the risk of injuries.
Improves Range of Motion
Releases muscle knots and constricted fascia so you can move more freely and restore flexibility.
At the end of a long stressful day, your muscles are tight and begging for release. You may drift off while releasing your neck or lower back...
Balance is key to healthy body mechanics and all our tools are designed to work bilaterally. Every massage ball set comes with a mesh bag for this reason and our tracks are also designed with multiple bilateral spacing options. The tracks also allow you to apply pressure from an angle which you don't get from the mesh bags.
Our project video contains excerpts taken from these videos:
Researchers at McMaster University reported that massage following an intense workout actually causes muscles to enlarge and grow new mitochondria. Mitochondria are the powerhouses of our cells and are responsible for converting nutrients into useful energy.
For an athlete, energy is everything.
The study found that deep-tissue massage increased the size and number of new mitochondria more than exercising without massage. Increasing mitochondria can improve endurance performance by increasing the rate that muscles utilize oxygen.
To the body, oxygen is everything.
The McMaster University study also found that massage therapy increases the range of motion in muscles and decreases recovery time between workouts or athletic events.
Massage is beneficial to more than muscles
Muscles might be the richest benefactors of a massage, but, most people report a feeling of pure relaxation, reduced anxiety, enhanced attentiveness, and improved mood following a massage.
Athletes may find an edge in these psychological benefits, making massage a double-duty treatment; a mind and body therapy. Various bodies of research compiled by the National Center for Biotechnology Information indicate that massage therapy:
- Reduces heart rate. Lowers blood pressure.
- Reduces recovery time after an injury.
- Rehabs an injury. Lowers anxiety.
- Improves mood.
- Increases blood flow throughout the body, bringing vital oxygen and nutrients all over.
- Relieves muscle pain and tension.
- Improves connective tissue healing, which promotes muscle elasticity.
- Stabilizes cortisol levels (a stress hormone, similar to adrenaline).
- Improves muscle flexibility, which reduces and prevents injury.
- Improves the quality of sleep.
