My name is Jairus Williams. I graduated Depaul University with a Bachelors in Animation and Film. I currently teach animation at a local college and I put all of my free time into pursuing my own creative passions. I am an animator, illustrator, and a passionate story teller. I am so excited to share my film with you.
Every one is raised differently, some some have the misfortune to suffer through abuse and they tend to do so quietly because of the fear that an environment breads. This story is about a child that went through that situation and how he struggles to have a relation ship with his abusive father in spite of it all. It is emotional and personal to me because it is based on my own life. Though there are differences between my life and the main character's, it was inspired by true events.
The main character, Aaron, goes into his garage to work out but he finds himself reliving traumatic childhood experiences. The present tense scenes in the garage will be animated in 3d software. All of the memory sequences are going to be hand drawn animation. The film will be real, textural, gritty, and emotional. It will be an amazing journey and I can't wait to take you for the ride.
What We Need & What You Get
The goal is to raise $25,000. We want you to be informed of the budget and the production plan. Below is a chart showing where all of your contributions will be going.
As you can see, most of the funds will go to the actual animation process. It requires a lot of time to create an entirely new world from scratch and to make it come to life. I appreciate all of the support you give to the film, so that is why I want to reassure you that even if the film doesn't makes it's goal, the film will still get made. If the campaign runs shy of it's goal, the work I have planned to contract out will be done my myself and the other talented artists signed on to the film.
This film, while it is based on my story, addresses important issues. This film can shed light on abuse issues and let victims know that they are not alone. If we can reach one person and help them heal, then that is an impact that is worth it.
Other Ways You Can Help
We would love your donations but we also understand that not everyone is in a position to give monetary support. That is more than okay. You can still support us and help the film get made. Here are some ways that you help:
- Ask folks to get the word out and make some noise about your campaign.
- Remind them to use the Indiegogo share tools!
- Repost the Indiegogo campaign on social media
- Reach out to any abuse support or fitness organizations you may have connections with
We appreciate you our fantastic supporters.
