United Shapes of America: United States Congressional District Coloring Book
United Shapes of America: United States Congressional District Coloring Book

This project has already launched.

My eight year-old daughter and I wrote this book because we wanted to buy it but it didn't exist yet. As a family, we were trying to figure out what is going on in U.S. politics. We wondered about how U.S. congressional districts were actually drawn and what gerrymandering looked like. We thought, hey is there a coloring book we could buy so we could actually feel the congressional districts for ourselves? When we realized that the answer was no, we decided to make this book for our family and to share with others.

We think that this new coloring book is a great way for both kids and adults to learn about the political landscape of the United States. Each page depicts a different state and you can color in the congressional districts. State capitals and major cities are included, as well as an extra mini map showing where each state is located.

Clear descriptions of the Constitution, Senate, House of Representatives, Electoral College, census, and gerrymandering help the young (and the no-longer young) sort out how things work in the United States.

We will be using funds raised to help promote the book and help educate folks about the shapes of the United States.

Our book is almost done and is being proofed right now. We expect it will be on Amazon.com by mid-August 2017.
