Throne of Lies -- a game which you may betray/tease your friends, make death-time fun, hand-drawn Deathnotes to troll the living, and even convert the good to bad with 35+ classes and 4 factions. 

The game is a 3D, online-multiplayer social deduction game with matchmaking, inspired by tabletop, medieval politics and the Werewolf/Mafia (1986) genre in a medieval setting.

Your objective is simple: Discover who you can trust, dispose of the rest. Welcome to the ultimate game of survival.

Start with being assigned to a faction and to 1 of 35 classes anonymously while experiencing 100+ abilities to use: social manipulation abilities to distract, offensive abilities to kill, and investigative abilities to determine who is friend and who is foe. Your best ability is your wit.

Discuss what you discovered with the others and vote them guilty to be executed for treason!

Players will be randomly assigned to factions. No one knows who’s who at the start. Alliances will be made, assassinations will occur, secret meetings will take place, both lies and truth will be told -- and voting to execute those accused of treason.

You will be deceived many times, but there are actions you can take to help deduce who is or is not on your side. Use your abilities and social deduction skills to stay alive and win!

There are 7-16 players per game session. Membership to a team (1 of 4 factions) -- either Blue Dragon, Black Rose, Neutral, or The Cult -- is also assigned to each player. You must deduct for clues obtained from the players’ special abilities and the social aspect of the game.

Each round has Day and Night phases.

During the Day phase, players may vote to determine if a player is guilty of treason (a crime punishable by death). If the majority votes a player guilty, the accused player will be executed by the first person who accused them of treason.

Players will also have limited time to chat to share evidence -- Players will then decide if they believe you, determine who is/isn’t suspicious and vote against who to execute for treason. Players can lie, act innocent, and blame others to try to trick everyone into voting someone they want gone.

During the Night phase, players retreat to their class-specific rooms.They may kill in the darkness and be part of others’ foul play. Different classes will have distinct abilities and intentions at Night. Some players can meet at Night, share secret plans, assassinate, spy, use special Night abilities, investigate, and more.

Players can write in their journal to keep track of what happens during each Day.

Players will also have a deathnote drawn by their mouse using ink and blood. Whatever a player writes or draws in this deathnote will be revealed upon their death.

When a king is slain, a new king rises -- based off a nomination vote.

The ultimate goal for each player is to eliminate the opposing factions -- with the exception of neutral factions that may have their own goals or take advantage of the weak.

At the beginning of the day phase, a death recap will occur, revealing useful (and likely taunting) information that will likely lead to making some groups of people particularly suspicious.

+ Looking Good: Full 3D, Vulkan graphics @ 64-bit - With stunning illustrations and art.

+ Tricky: Your deduction skills are more useful than your 100+ class abilities.   

+ Unique: Abilities change each phase with 30+ different class combinations with high replayability.  

+ Twisting: "Recruiting" and "Converting" systems to release an alter-self (We don't want to say "the dark side!).  

+ Opportunity: "King" and "Royalty" system: Rise up to inherit the Throne when the King is killed.  

+ Rooms: 20+ unique, custom rooms at night. 

+ Death is not the end: Death/ghost system with mini game. One may return or speak with the living!  

+ Customized: Earn traditional, full skins -- but also claim new weapons, armor, and even auras. Only aesthetic unlocks (No pay-2-win here). Customize your character model -- it's not linked with your class! 

+ Stylish Justice: Execution abilities are dependent on your currently-equipped weapon.

+ Community: 16-player online interrogation, trial and treason system with community decisions and active forum/Discord chat. 

+ Be the writer: Every move contributes to the game's next move -- causing a ripple effect. 

+ Be creative: Taunt your enemies by drawing "Deathnotes" to leave with their body -- drawn with blood and ink. 

+ Gifts: Beta access, exclusive backer rewards, forum titles, special prices, free extra keys given out to invite friends, and more.

Players will be able to equip armor, clothing, and robes - We want players to fit the part and be who they want to be!

Throne of Lies is a game crafted by a team of 7 friends from around the world. It all started in Discord chat when a group of friends were reminiscing about the old times. We played tabletop and card games with each other - and now we are all apart throughout the world. 

In order to experience those moments of twists & tricks, we decided to recreate these memories in the form of a video game - online. Our goal is to create these moments full of witty laughter and deceitful fun among our community - not just for men, but for anyone.

Risks and challenges

Like most games (especially online-exclusive games), there's always the risk of a possible delay. However, Throne of Lies is already near-completion -- about 85% complete:

If we're funded with this campaign, we can complete the project sooner -- while adding higher quality and value to the game right away. If we don't get funded, this would likely push the launch back.

Challenges do exist with getting multiplayer integration implemented. We are working on getting this optimized. We originally planned for a relay service, but we decided to go with a more-premium dedicated server with the ability to reconnect.

Also, the game relies on having a very complex set of balance configuration to make it both fun and fair. We will be tinkering to get it right!
