Swap-bay is a swapping, selling and buying website and app, open to any member of the public with a smart phone and a computer with Internet access. Swap-bay was initially set up because I wanted to provide a cheaper alternative to eBay with better customer service and with a twist, hence the swapping part of the business. Our main goal is to be the leading website for everyone including business’s for swapping, buying and selling online and to have the best customer service and the most affordable prices. We believe at swap-bay that users should be able to swap, buy or sell at an affordable price and have the best customer service as well. Our industry is predominantly the 16-65 year olds, however people outside of those ages can use the site. We believe our industry will be a growth industry and we envisage a fast growth following our marketing plan. We believe our main strengths will be our pricing which is approximately 50% cheaper than eBay, added with the fact people can swap there items, we believe swap-bay will be profitable within the first year. I personally bring the commitment, drive & enthusiasm to the business, which will drive the company forward. There will be 3 members of staff, 2 for customer service and 1 for web content editor. Our marketing campaign has already started on Facebook, but the real campaign will start approx. 1 - 2 months after full launch of website & App. That will consist of an improved and larger Facebook advertisement and an 30 second advert with Sky T.V. running for approx. 4-6 weeks. We estimate that approx. 30% of the UKs population will use Swap-Bay once we are fully established.
We are hoping for a launch date of early July as the website is already underway and with good progress, we have a holding/homepage which is live now @ www.swap-bay.com which is capturing peoples details wanting to register already.
