My idea is the S.T.E.M. Holiday Advent Calendar. It's a fun and educational product for kids ages 6+. The prototype I created is a plastic box with 24 compartments. Inside each compartment is a fun science, technology, engineering or math based experiment or activity. It comes with some of the accessories or ingredients needed for each experiment, but some items would need to be supplied by the customer, such as any liquids (mainly water or vinegar) and other items such as bowls or large cups. Some of the experiments are festive in nature, such as "Find Santa's Home" where you build your own compass that points North, or use static electricity to make tinsel "dance".

The cover for each compartment is decorated with an element from the Periodic Table of Elements, with the exception of the 24th, which is labeled "Merry Christmasium" with an "atomic number" of the year of the calendar. i.e. 12.2015.

The outer case is decorated with stock illustration, but that will be more professional if this idea takes off.

I have attached some photos so you can get the gist of what I'm going for. The first one shows the exteriro and interior of the box. The other ones iare samples of some of the experiments.
Everyone I've shown this to says I should mass market this. My friends are all doing this for their children. I think with the growing excitement and acceptance as science being "cool" (Look at Project MC squared), I think this could be a big hit if made to look professional and marketed well.
As of right now, this is just a basic prototype. I would like to raise funding for a more protessional look and better grade of materials. Any insight or advice is greatly appreciated.
Thank you for taking a look!
