Puppeteer: Shadowplay

Puppeteer: Shadowplay is a result of my passion that games are not just simple fun sources, but they are (should be) pieces of art. This game is based on the key features that I value most: theme, atmosphere, scenario, characters, decision taking, and unique gameplay elements.

Our main character is a simple puppeteer who wanders between towns and cities to earn his life. One day he plays a show about some poor children, who steal a delicious looking cake. But they are beaten down to death by guards. Surprisingly, what happens in his show, while he performs, happens right in front of the audience as well. At that day our main character, the puppeteer, gains the power of controlling people from his shadow theatre stage.

The following events after this intro will be processed in a realistic logical way. The puppeteer is neither a defender of justice nor bringer of pain and destruction. Within that unjust kingdom that he lives in, he will (or maybe will not) discover his own soul through the temptation of power and benefits.

The game is going to be consisted of 2 main parts:

1) Mini shadow theatre shows & cinematics

2) Main strategy gameplay

Shows & Cinematics:

Mini shows are basically mini games with no close relation to the main story. They are the indirect decision taking mechanism of the game and they will affect the game scenario. This will be another unique feature of the game. There will also be direct decisions, which will be chosen by the puppeteer himself.

The player have these options which will affect the main scenario:

1) Catch the butterfly.

2) Catch and release the butterfly afterwards.

3) Do not catch the butterfly and wait until it flies away.

Main Gameplay:

The strategy part of the game. Basically there are 3 main lanes that play can capture buildings, build buildings, train units, and use battle tools. Related with the territories, the scene becomes shady or colorful. Shades represents the puppeteer's area for he controls his army from his shadow play stage.

Why Crowdfunding?

I have been working on this project for 10 months. I have taken external help from time to time with the very limited budget I had, and have not worked at any full time job for solely developing this game. At long last, this is my first stop to raise some support for this game. Any contribution is going to help me have a increased budget for making a more detailed game.

Other Ways You Can Help:

Even if you tell your friends about the game or just vote "yes" on Steam Greenlight, it will really help me as well. The Greenlight campaign is going to start with Indiegogo campaign. But you can still follow the game on these platforms:
