Project Abaddon in a nutshell

SHORT SYNOPSIS

An interstellar space Archaeologist / Explorer, is determined to find the truth about his father’s disappearance some 30 years prior, who was searching for an ancient artifact that possesses unbelievable power. He begins a journey that takes him to a ruthless band of female mercenaries led by a take-no-prisoners type intent on gaining profit and wealth, to locate this “artifact” his father deemed: "Project Abaddon." The location of this "artifact" is where his father was supposedly lost.

Now they must learn who’s side they’re on, work to defend everyone from themselves and find a way to unite and protect billions against an alien force that’s coming to destroy everything for one thing: that artifact! The adventure begins on a starship with a mercenary crew.

When you meet them, they will either love you or drop you where you stand without a blink of an eye. It’s a journey, not a destination, that takes our diverse crew of misfits that feels like the Magnificent 7 meets Battlestar Galactica meets Indiana Jones with the drama of “24” thrown in for good measure.

VISION and PASSION

Project Abaddon is the brainchild of creator Pete Borreggine and Gary Hauger, set 600 years in the future and explores a how a group of diverse characters are forced to work together, disagree with everything, find an ancient artifact, learn how to use it, and unite billions before an alien force determined to destroy everything returns for the very ship our crew has. What is Project Abaddon? Well, that’s a good question. Abaddon is a science fiction spaceship based series.

There are many of those, as that is the transportation of choice to explore outer space. That’s where the similarity ends, however. Star Trek was originally: A wagon train in space; a space Western, per se. Battlestar Galactica explored the possibility that humanity existed somewhere else in the galaxy and the Galactica needed to find Earth, to save humanity. Firefly, Farscape and Stargate all followed a similar pattern with exploration and the eventually, like all great things, ended, prematurely.

What Project Abaddon will try to do is bring all the best of the sci-fi shows that have come before and couple it with adventure of Indiana Jones and the drama of “24”.

What does that mean? Well, our main character, is not necessarily a starship captain but rather an archaeologist and explorer that just so happens to hitch rides on star ships to travel and find clues about who we are and how we got to earth. What kick started humanity; really.

But, in that process our heroes are thrown headlong into a journey and an unsolved mystery that takes them face to face with an evil that wants what they have found: The Abaddon (Aptly named by the by the father of our hero as a special archaeological event called: “Project Abaddon”).

Yep! It’s his and he’s one ticked off alien. So, who’s side are we on anyway and, moreover, is he really the EVIL that wants it or….

A thought from actor, Larry Luckinbill

My good friend, Larry Luckinbill (Sybok, ST:V) said it well when he watched our sizzle reel:

"My thought is a NEW MYTHOLOGY is needed to make a NEW AUDIENCE. If I was advising anyone now, I would urge the INCLUSIVE PRINCIPLE that all of the CREATURES THAT GOD HAS MADE in all the galaxies in all of apparently never-ending space--all of them that have attained sentience as we humans claim to have--ALL SHARE THE SAME NEEDS AND CONFUSIONS AND FAMILY FEELINGS that we have."

That is our CORE STORY

MORE ABOUT JANET'S PLANET - OFFICIAL PARTNER:

Janet is a Buzz Aldrin ShareScience Ambassador and has won a STEM-FLORIDA Award for the “Exploring Microgravity,” educational video about gravity and microgravity, she wrote and produced for Space Florida. This dynamic and fast-paced series is geared to 5-10 year olds and focuses on science, space, history and health. The short form series can be seen on public television stations nationwide as well as KTV (Kids and Teen Television), YouTube, BatteryPop, Club Jelly Telly, AmebaTV, and HighBrow in the UK, and the Children’s Television Network.

Janet grew up in Covington, TN, a little town 45 minutes north of Memphis, TN, birthplace of Isaac Hayes and the Charms Blow Pop. She played astronaut on the playground, watched Star Trek and loved going to her friend Carol’s house because she had walkie-talkies that made playing astronaut and Star Trek even more fun. Janet credits her fifth grade teacher, Ms. Ernestine Yarborough for inspiring her love of the solar system. Ms. Yarborough hosted a star party in the fall of 1977 where Janet had the chance to look through a telescope for the first time. Witnessing a strong and beautiful female role model know so much about stars and planets and began a life long love affair with the cosmos.  Part artist, part scientist Janet believes that ART and SCIENCE deserve to be taught side by side in concert with one another.

On November 5th 2016, Janet was awarded the Inaugural “Permission to Dream” Award from Rick Tumlinson’s New World’s Institute for her commitment to STEAM education and global space and science outreach.

In 2015 was elected to the Board of Governors of the National Space Society and named the spokesperson for Enterprise in Space. Janet believes in the mission of educating young people about the solar system, planetary science and GIRLS, telling them  “that SMART is the most beautiful thing you can be.”

The mission for Janet and Janet’s Planet is to encourage young people to stand in their magnificence and to inspire future generations to use their innate intelligence and creativity to create a better future via STEAM…science, technology, engineering, art and math.

And here's the PERK that Janet gave us
for 3 LUCKY people.
