End of a Run
After the publisher of the first two One Hell of a Romance series books closed their doors, I was left floundering. I wasn't sure what to do with my books, although I did know I wasn't giving up on them!
While I didn't want to jump right into a relationship with another publisher and risk getting burned again (it's the same old story no matter what, isn't it?!), I wasn't sure if self-publishing was right for me either.
My experience with the publisher hadn't been the greatest, so I was really skittish about how to proceed. So, I just did some quick editing on the first book and threw it up on Amazon.
But it wasn't right.
A New Empire
Now I've spent some time making some more connections in the industry, not necessarily with publishers, but other authors and readers. I spent a lot of time pouring over (and pining over) the first two books, plus writing the third book.
But without really having any focus or plan, the book stalled.
Well, of course it did.
Now, with the third book just about complete, and the fourth just getting started, it was time to make a decision, once and for all.
So, I talked to a few editors, a few designers, and a few formatters.
Because I still haven't gotten to where I'm ready to see about having another publisher.
So, I didn't go with one. Instead I started to assemble my team (everyone should have a team!) and look into marketing strategies. Except, teams expect to be paid! :o
Oh, the horror!
