Modern Coat Racks Inspired By Great Architecture
Modern Coat Racks Inspired By Great Architecture

This project has already launched.

About This Project

We are a group of furniture designers and makers in Costa Mesa, California. We started an online business to sell custom made, made to measure, made to order modern furniture at www.1x1modern.com. We developed a set of coat racks that have been inspired by some of the most famous landmark towers in the world, which we hope will be appealing to anybody interested in architecture and design -- hopefully, that's you! We could custom make these coat racks one by one, but we thought that we could make these coat racks available to a much broader audience at a much lower cost by contracting with a larger furniture factory (at 30% less than custom made price, if we can make the volume commitment).

These are not copies or replicas of the buildings. Their shapes have been inspired by each respective building and respectfully rendered as an abstraction, an homage to their timeless design, but we were surprised by how well they work as coat racks, with hooks at different heights for long coats, petite coats and backpacks.

What We Need & What You Get

We need a total combined order of 30 coat racks, enough to fill up a 40-foot container, in order to get the volume pricing from the furniture factory. In return for you, from this campaign...

  • You get to choose any of the coat rack designs as a perk at more than 30% discount from our regular custom-made price of $1,290.
  • You get your perks delivered in early December 2016, just in time for the Holidays for that special architecture buff in your life (maybe that's you!).
  • If we can't reach our campaign goal of $25,000, then we will return your money, unless we can come to a new deal with the furniture factory. If you want, you can still order the coat racks from our website at their regular price.

The Impact

As designers and architecture buffs ourselves, we are really excited to be able to bring this small light of architectural and design inspiration to you, and at the same time, a practical addition for your home or office.

Other Ways You Can Help

If you cannot commit to one of our perks, please help us in other ways:

  • Please let your friends and family know about this campaign, especially if they are interested in design, architecture or modern home decor and furniture.
  • Please use the Indiegogo share tools and come and visit us at our website www.1x1modern.com and our social media sites at Facebook, Twitter and Instagram!
  • From there, we would appreciate any comments you have about these coat racks, as well as any suggestion for what building or landmark we should be inspired by next.

Thank you!
