This project has already launched.

Georgia is the brain child of Dina Freberg, a first time director and writer. She has been a working actress for the past 3 years after moving to Los Angeles at 19. She’s currently in collaboration with the 30 under 30 festival in New York City for Women in Film, and is pushing to debut the project in next year’s festival circuit. Dina met Mike DeMille last year working on his film Titanium, which appeared in this year’s Cannes Short Film Corner. They are collaborating for the second time on Georgia, with Mike acting as the Executive Producer and Dina starring and directing.

Georgia is a story inspired by a song soon to be released by Otis English. To create the look for the film, we enlisted Emmy award winning production designer Hilda Stark (RoboCop 3, Banshee) and set designer Blake Ternacz (The Great Gatsby). Despite our indie status, we're lucky to have drawn the attention of these rock stars. It's important to Dina as a filmmaker to approach storytelling in new and creative ways. Our team shares her vision.

Kickstarter recently became a Public Benefit Corporation, meaning they are obligated to consider the impact of their decisions on society, not only shareholders. Radically, positive impact on society becomes part of a Benefit Corporation’s legally defined goals. This aligns with the goals of the Georgia production team, so Kickstarter is the platform we chose for the short film.

Georgia is a female driven film, and we feel by striving for gender parity in our production we're walking the walk, not just talking the talk.
