The average American (including young kids, teens and adults) consumes 120 pounds of added sugar every year -- that's about 14,400 teaspoons. Plus about 30 pounds of French fries and other fried potatoes. Plus 18 pounds of chips and salty snacks. Plus 56 pounds of baked goods.
Is it any wonder why people gain weight?
With childhood obesity at an all-time high, this tragic epidemic is actually preventable. Kids and teens need basic education, motivation and empowerment to take control of their health and make good eating choices. An entire generation of kids are hopelessly addicted to toxic foods, drinks and ingredients, and my goal with these short, high-impact videos is to get kids to WANT to eat healthy and avoid the junk they currently consume at an alarming rate.
With 80% of adults being overweight or obese, most kids grow up in households where at least one parent or sibling is heavy, thus leading to poor eating and drinking habits in many cases. When our precious children learn, very dramatically, the sheer amount of sugar they eat every day, or what's inside a chicken nugget, it is my firm believe they will, on their own, change their eating habits. And that's the best way to combat childhood obesity and prevent it in the first place.
