Hi My name is Nana Boateng Osei, and my team and I run an afro-canadian eyewear company called Bôhten Eyeglasses.
Since the launch of Bôhten in 2012, we have sought to master the craft of making eco-luxury eyewear from discarded materials sourced from West Africa.
Made exclusively of wood from the Volta lake region of Ghana, our 2018 collection #Bohten5 is not only an evolution of our most popular designs to date, but a stepping stone towards our ultimate goal of creating a full production hub.
Our Bôhten5 collection debuted on Kickstarter to give early adopters an opportunity to preorder their next pair of frames, while supporting our uniquely African dream; to raise the funds needed to make our product locally and create fair paying jobs on the continent.
No amount is too small; your pledge of 15 dollars or more will get us that much closer to our goal. Without your support, the dream simply isn't possible. With it, we can shift the paradigm and our vision of change. 2 percent of each pledge will go towards our impact of one partnership with sightsavers and combat eye diseases worldwide
