About this project
I've been brewing with Water Kefir Grains for almost two years now. I started off making Kefir water, or as I like to call it, Kefir soda, and then moved on to crafting Kefir beer (ranging between 5% and 11% alcohol). Kefir sodas and ales are a delicious, probiotic alternative to conventional sodas and beers. They are effervescent, slightly sweet, and I currently make them in three flavors; pineapple, lemon, and lime. I can't seem to make them fast enough. My family and friends LOVE it!
Probiotic drink sales have skyrocketed in the last few years. However, Kefir based beverages are just beginning to make their way onto the scene. I came to realize that I'm brewing two very marketable types of beverages. That's how the Austin Kefir Microbrewery came to life. Austin, Texas is the perfect health conscious city in which to make this unique microbrewery a huge success.
I am currently brewing 15 gallons of kefir beer every four weeks, and 5 gallons of Kefir soda every three to four days; all out of my 1000 sq ft home. I have paid for the brewing supplies, and marketing materials out of my own pocket, and I need additional funds to continue. I have created a full scale business plan, covering the first three years of business, and I'm looking for the right investor(s) to help bring that plan to life. I am hoping to raise the $5,000 to continue purchasing brewing and bottling supplies, until I have found my investor(s).
