In 1983 my father, Omar, came to Chicago on a student visa where he had hopes and dreams of making it in America. Things did not pan out for him going to school so my mother and father chose to make a life for them and their 3 children in Minnesota. He worked day and night in deli's, restaurants and construction, whatever he could do to provide for his family. After saving money for years he finally was able to open a small American, Greek/Lebanese deli in Minneapolis. He has many peoples support and is always being approached to open a bigger deli or even a full service restaurant but does not have the upfront money to invest in such a huge venture. I am confident my father's love for creating food and making people and their families happy when they come into the deli can transcend into an even bigger venture. Whenever we dine at restaurant with a huge open kitchen with chefs and a full staff I see it in my fathers eyes how much love he has for his craft and how with the right support he could do wonders in a full restaurant.
